90% near melt
How many here are accumulating 90% ?
I've recently made a contact who's selling near melt. My last batch was only 5% right above melt on some Mercury Dimes. In the past week or so he's moved about $800 in face......:character |

How do I - where do I, find the melt price? Is it online? Is it different depending who is buying?
Thanks |

The melt price is the spot price. Click on "silver" on upper right tool bar. It's the same for everyone but many demand discounts or charge premiums. Hang around and read some threads, there is a lot to learn here. |

Re: 90% near melt
I mostly am into .999 but I am trying to amass $100 face in all the common 90% coins. I am closest to achieving this in Mercury dimes as it turns out, and almost all of mine are very nice. I will work on Franklin and Walker halves next, then Washington quarters. Roosevelt dimes and Kennedy halves are lowest on my list. I do want at least 1 roll of decent Barber dimes and Liberty quarters, just as a momento.
Around here the good dealers will sell 90% for melt, no premium. Occasionally I can find a small bag going for less than spot. |
Re: 90% near melt
Anyone have any stats. as to just how much 90% is actually melted each year?
